The most exciting things for you to do

We collected the best and most exciting things for you to do if you choose Budapest as your Christmas destination. You still have plenty of time to book a flight ticket and reserve those seats on board! What are you waiting for? Everyone deserves a winter holiday!

Let’s see what you can do here during this period and what we recommend you to try out.

Budapest Shooting is one of the things we would recommend. At first it doesn’t sound like the most typical holiday activity, but believe us, this will entertain you and your friends as well.

Keep at least one day clear for this in your calendar when planning your time in Budapest, because you cannot leave Hungary without spending time with us.

Budapest is a great place to choose when it comes to holidays and putting a not average activity into the vacation schedule can spice up the time spent far away from home. After visiting the outstanding sightseeing spots of the city, trying out the best Hungarian dishes in one of the world-famous restaurants you will need something extra, something that usually is not in people’s mind when planning a holiday abroad.

Budapest shooting comes into the picture here. It is fun, not average and you can do it in teams, which makes it incredibly exciting! It is recommended especially to the stagdos, since every potential husband nominee would like to spend their last free days doing something extremely manly before their life will change forever – but since here we are talking about holiday getaways, you might just bring your loved one along.

Let’s see our other 3 top picks next to the shooting range visit:

Budapest has smaller and bigger Christmas Markets, which usually open around mid November and close at the end of December (December 31) each year. The two city central markets have been attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors, and are the most spectacular. Have you been to any yet?

The most beautiful, oldest and internationally acclaimed Budapest Christmas fair is the Christmas Market on Vörösmarty Square in the heart of the city (since 1998).

The other one, where you will find beautiful quality handcrafts, and special Hungarian Delicacies (e.g Chimney Cake) is the Budapest Basilica Christmas Fair, just in front of the beautiful St. Stephen Basilica.

The festive Christmas markets showcase young and old talents of Hungary, who really make their products with love, care, carrying on traditions of long years in glass blowing, knitting, wood carving, candle making, pottery, leather trade (belt making, bag making, shoe making, etc.), traditional Hungarian embroidery and lace work, etc. Don’t expect dazzling handicrafts, just nice and pleasant gifts, most of which make nice little presents, unassuming lovely gifts.

Second tip:

A real holiday sightseeing during daytime will happen on the hop on - hop off buses. Explore Budapest at leisure with our 24 and 72-hour tickets to more sightseeing routes on the hop on - hop off bus. Catch panoramic views from Buda Castle, cruise the Danube, and visit historic sights, as your live English-speaking hostess gives a historic overview of the city's landmarks on your trip.

Third must see and do:

Thermal bath is a bliss in winter time: visit Szechenyi Baths in Budapest to enjoy hot spring pools (2 open air thermal pools, 15 indoor pools), also open at Christmas! How cool is that?!

Budapest Shooting Range and the other things are just a few of the many activities that the city offers. Budapest has 1.8 million inhabitants, so obviously there is a lot to do. The question is fair: Why would you choose us, as your free time activity?

We cannot convince you with anything else, other than the fact that it’s unique, you cannot find the exact same setup anywhere else and it is in Budapest, which is a huge extra.

See you at the shooting range after you explore the city!
